Begin with a visit to Linderhof Palace, Ludwig’s most beloved palace, set in lush gardens with a fascinating Moorish Kiosk and the iconic Venus Grotto (currently closed for maintenance).
Next, step into the charming village of Oberammergau, home of the famous Passion Play and renowned for its wood carvings and painted houses. Enjoy a traditional Bavarian lunch.
Continue your royal journey to Neuschwanstein Castle, Ludwig II’s fairy-tale masterpiece. With Skip the Line tickets, explore the castle’s magnificent interiors and capture postcard-worthy views from Mary’s Bridge. Finish your visit with a horse-drawn carriage ride back to Hohenschwangau village.
Overnight stay in the picturesque town of Füssen.

The second day of your royal tour takes you from the peaks of the Alps to the cultural heart of Tyrol.
Start with a ride to Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain. Take the cable car to the summit for unparalleled panoramic views of the Alps, straddling the border between Germany and Austria.
After descending, drive to Innsbruck, the charming capital of Tyrol. Explore the Old Town, where Gothic and Baroque buildings meet modern life. Don’t miss Innsbruck’s iconic Golden Roof, a symbol of the city’s rich history.
In the late afternoon, return to Munich, filled with memories of a perfect blend of Bavarian grandeur and Alpine beauty.

Tour Reviews
Neuschwanstein Castle, etc. from Munich
We only had 2 days in Munich and wanted to see as much as possible while we were there. Special Private Tours and our driver/guide David were fantastic! David picked us up in front of our hotel and drove the “scenic route” to Neuschwanstein Castle, playing tour guide, historian, and DJ along the way. He arranged for us to tour the castle without waiting in the long line, took us to Oberammergau for lunch and on to the Linderhof Castle for a full day of touring. He was a delightful conversationalist, and as a Czech native, he was very helpful in interpreting some Czech words one of our companions remembered from her childhood. Furthermore, he dropped us back at our hotel an hour later than our tour was supposed to be done, but he was very gracious about having been delayed by a downpour and offered to take us to the airport the next morning. We could not have asked for a better person to spend our day with. I highly recommend using Special Private Tours for customized trips if you are traveling in Munich.
